| TOWER OF BABEL TET 55202 [(Seedling x Shaka Zulu) x {(Fortune’s Dearest x Lifting Me Higher) x (Forbidden Desires x Tet Lavender Blue Baby)}] 38”, M, Dor, Re, fr, 6”, 5 way branching with 20 buds. Clear medium grape with darker feathery violet eye and edge plus a small white edge that sometimes has sharks; yellow green throat. Good for back of the border because of its height and plant habit – scapes are absolutely vertical with no arch, and blooms are way above the foliage – a bit odd, but attractive - it reminds me of lycoris (the “naked lady” plant). Fertile both ways but pod is a bit more difficult than average. |
