BLACKEST DARKNESS
TET 43017 (Let the Sea Resound x Prophetic Voice) 6.5", 32" (range of 30-35"), 4-way branching (range of 2-6), 18 buds (range of 11 when crowded to 30), Re (but almost none outside in MN), ML, Dor. Dark cranberry with black plum eye and red “feathers" extending into the throat; white "twinkle" midribs; black plum plus lavender plus ivory edge; green throat. Opens well on cold mornings. Hold its color in heat and sun and looks good in the evening after a hot sunny day. I didn't hybridize with it much since it has been grown outside because of its dormancy and I make my seeds in the greenhouse in May because it is cooler for setting seeds. A sdlg from it is shown below. Lined out outside because of its dormancy, so it will be sent late May/early June.
Fertile both ways but difficult.
